RAND Receives an Honorable Mention on List
of Best Architectural Firms to Work For

New York, October 2007

RAND Engineering & Architecture, PC a 75-person New York-based firm founded in 1987, is proud to have received an honorable mention on ZweigWhite's 2007 list of Best Architectural Firms to Work For. Companies were rated on their own employees' responses to questions on compensation and bonuses, benefits, training and career development, company-sponsored social activities, office environment, and the firm's personality and culture.

"To attract and retain talented, dedicated employees, you have to give them the opportunity to do what they do best, reward them for their accomplishments, and treat them fairly and with respect," said Stephen Varone, AIA, RAND's President and founder.

Varone's comments were echoed in the anonymous responses that RAND employees submitted to the survey:

"RAND has consistently proved its integrity, honesty and fairness in working with customers, clients, staff, and vendors."

"RAND fosters a culture where every employee is important in their own way . . . It is a pleasure to come to work every day."

"Stephen Varone has created a comfortable, work-oriented placed of business that makes one eager to get to work each day."

"RAND is a wonderful company to work for because they encourage learning, advancement, and motivation in all of their employees."

"RAND is more like a family than your typical company. The people are genuinely caring, and that makes one want to do their absolute best. The employees treat each other, and the clients, like family. There is a feeling of camaraderie."

In addition to the traditional benefits such as medical and dental insurance and 401(k) plan with company match, some of the other perks that helped make RAND a place a desirable work for include a recreational room, in-house yoga, an on-site exercise room, company outings, and a company-sponsored volunteer and charitable program, RAND Gives Back.

"We've always tried to make RAND a different kind of company to work for," Varone said. "And it's because of our employees that we've been able to achieve that."
