Client Services Associate

We are actively seeking a highly motivated Client Services Associate to assist our Business Development Team. All candidates must have sales and client relations experience.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Draft formal proposals for engineering and architectural services
  • Process time-sensitive requests for services
  • Manage proposal and client information through a proprietary database system
  • Coordinate with staff engineers and architects
  • Interact with clients to build and maintain relationships
  • Attend client meetings

Education and/or Experience:

Experience in the real estate industry and/or business development a big plus; degree in engineering, architecture, sustainability or another technical field a plus but not essential. Must have sales and client relations experience.

Project Manager - Facade & Roofing

RAND is seeking a highly motivated technical professional to assist with project management on a variety of exciting projects.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify new work opportunities and inform Client Services of potential projects with new or current clients.
  • Provide overall administrative and technical management management support on new facade/roofing opportunities from RAND proposal preparation through final acceptance by the client, including Board Meetings and interviews.
  • Establish project objectives, budgets, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy; provide coordination of project designs with other disciplines
  • Examine building exterior envelopes (visually & hands-on), develop work scopes, and provide budget projections.
  • Prepare construction documents and details to address all deficiencies in accordance with DOB and LPC requirements/guidelines.
  • Conduct contractor bid solicitations/reviews.
  • Perform construction observation and special inspections, issue site visit reports, special inspection reports, and follow through with the correction of all deficiencies.
  • Establish an on-going dialogue with LPC, if applicable.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, issue change orders, review payment applications and oversee completion of project close-out, including DOB/LPC permit signoffs.
  • Actively monitor project budgets to ensure profitability, and develop/maintain client relationships.

 

Education and/or Experience:

Master of Architecture/Bachelor of Architecture/Bachelor of Science in Architecture/Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering; or 3 to 5 years’ experience in inspecting building exterior envelopes and subsequently designing and administering exterior repair/roofing projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Structural Engineer - Entry Level 

RAND is seeking a highly motivated entry-level Structural Engineer to join our team and work collaboratively on a diverse range of structural projects. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Work under the direction of senior staff adhering to company procedures
  • Develop construction documents including engineering drawings and written specifications
  • Perform Special Inspections for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood
  • Perform site visits to evaluate existing structures and to monitoring on-going construction projects
  • Write clear and concise reports
  • Communicate with architects, building owners, property managers, and contractors

 

Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with Structural focus; or 0-2 years of experience in analysis and design of renovations, new buildings, and foundations. EIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge and familiarity with typical software used in engineering consulting including: AutoCAD, REVIT, MS Office and RAM
  • Ability to perform assessments/inspections in the field, including on active construction sites

Structural Engineer Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering; Structural Concentration or a related topic

  • ICC Special Inspector certifications and experience performing Special Inspections
  • LEED credentials with an interest in sustainable development are pluses

Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer for our MEP team. Candidate should have experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Fire Protection Systems.

 Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review plans
  • Prepare written reports and studies
  • Interact with clients
  • Administer MEP upgrade projects
  • Prepare renderings and supporting graphics for project presentations
  • Develop design and technical solutions through all phases of a project, from feasibility to construction documentation
  • Conduct site visits during the construction phase
  • Design and specify HVAC, plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems
  • Provide timely analytical solutions to evaluate mechanical configurations from a structural viewpoint
  • Conduct verification/benchmarking of analytical results to test data/instrumentation
  • Determine HVAC load, specs, sizing equipment, ductwork, and piping

 

Education and Experience:

5 years of experience in residential and commercial projects, particularly multi-family buildings.

Design Associate/Specification Writer

RAND is seeking a motivated, entrepreneurial-minded, detail-oriented problem solving individual to assist our Facade & Roofing Team. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze plans and diagrams, or observe and make notes on material processing, to determine material and material processing specifications, or specifications for manufacturing or construction activities
  • Write technical descriptions specifying material qualities and properties
  • Draw rough sketches or arrange for finished drawings or photographs to illustrate specified materials or assembly sequence
  • Go into the field to get on-site specifications
  • Concentrate on exterior facade and roofing repair, and restoration projects

 

Education and/or Experience:

Must have bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture from four-year college or university, or five years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of both.

 

Job Requirements: 

  • Interested in the technical side of architecture and construction
  • Construction Administration field experience is a plus
  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle and prioritize multiple projects and adjust work accordingly, often against tight deadlines. Strong organizational skills
