Once the various elements of a construction project are in place—the budget and timeline have been approved, the contractor selected, and work permits obtained—the remaining step is for the building owner and the contractor to sign an agreement so the work can begin. It’s here that the project can get delayed by drawn-out negotiations between the parties.
