Local Law 84/09 Benchmarking Deadline Extended to May 31

Because of a cyber attack on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star website on April 28, the online Portfolio Manager has not been available for submitting 2012 benchmarking reports, as required for New York City buildings 50,000 square feet or larger under Local Law 84/09. The City has therefore extended the May 1 filing deadline to May 31.

As of yesterday, May 6, the Energy Star website has been restored, but some of the site's systems are still not functioning. Energy Star expects those systems to be available starting today.

For updates on the Portfolio Manager's availability, please visit Energy Star's website. For Energy Star's security notice, please visit its FAQ page.

You can also visit the City's Greener Greater Building Plan page on Local Law 84/09 for more information and call the Benchmarking Help Center at 212-442-7901.

Please feel free to contact RAND at 212-675-8844 or info@nullrandpc.com if you have any benchmarking questions or need more information on complying with Local Law 84/09.
