At one time or another, every building owner is faced with the need to undertake a large project, whether it’s upgrading an aging plumbing system, replacing a roof, or repairing unsafe facade conditions. Getting the most out of a Major Capital Improvements Program requires proper planning and financing.
The first step is to engage a professional engineer to prepare a Capital Needs Assessment Report, which evaluates the condition of major building systems and prioritizes repair/replacement items with budget and time estimates. Next, owners need to allocate funds for undertaking the recommended building upgrades.
