Effective June 21, 2023, the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) has recently announced the expansion of its Summer No-Penalty Inspection Program, providing property owners, landlords, and business owners with an opportunity to assess the condition of their buildings and address potential repair projects. The program, which will run until July 31, 2023, allows participants to benefit from expert guidance and proactive maintenance without incurring penalties.

The program now includes free, no-penalty visual inspections that encompass various critical areas, including building facades under six stories in height, unregistered boilers, and unregistered private elevators, in addition to inspections of decks, patios, and retaining walls.
