Blood, no sweat or tears: RAND’s Marketing Director Peter Scallion hoists his pumped pint at RAND's blood drive with the American Red Cross.
Last week RAND held its second annual blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross. Following the success of our first ever blood drive last year, at which we collected a respectable 19 units, this year we opened up our veins even more and donated 25 units (approximately a pint each), a 31% increase.
Sixteen of the units came from first-time donors with the American Red Cross in this region. The Red Cross estimates that the 25 total whole blood units collected have the potential to save up to 75 lives. Not a bad day’s work at the office!
RAND’s annual blood drive is part of our RAND Gives Back program of volunteering and charitable activities. If you are interested in donating blood, contact the American Red Cross for more information and locations.
We’re looking forward to bleeding even more for a good cause next year!
