In yet another measure of its continued growth and industry reach, RAND Engineering & Architecture, PC was named one of New York Construction magazine's Top Design Firms in 2008. Companies were ranked by annual revenues in several categories, including overall design work, region, discipline, building type, and project type. RAND was ranked on three of the lists: Third in Exterior/Facade Design with $4,440,000 annual revenue in that discipline, seventh in Renovations/Restoration with $5,624,000 annual revenue, and 93rd overall, with $7,400,000 in total revenue for 2008.
RAND's exterior building envelope design services include Local Law 11/98 repair programs, roof replacements, facade restoration, window and door replacements, balconies and terraces repair projects, exterior site upgrades, as well as historic preservation. "Exterior renovation and restoration work has been, and continues to be, the mainstay of our business," said RAND founder and President Stephen A. Varone, AIA. "Given the sheer number of buildings in New York City and the metropolitan area, regardless of the state of the economy we always expect to see a steady stream of repair and maintenance programs year after year."
