ALL SYSTEMS GO
Beyond a building’s skin and bones—its bricks and mortar and steel and concrete—lie its vital organs: its heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, and fire-protection systems. Efficient building operation depends heavily on the proper functioning of these essential elements. RAND designs and administers upgrades and installations for all major building systems and components, including:
- Heating plants
- Ventilation and air conditioning
- Domestic, sanitary, and storm water
- Electrical service and metering
- Chillers and cooling towers
- Gas services and piping
- Oil-to-gas conversions
- Fire protection
- Backflow prevention
- Generators and emergency power systems
- Utilities relocation
With our broad expertise of MEP systems, RAND designs and administers effective repair and upgrade projects to remedy such common building problems as:
- Over- and under-heated apartments
- Blown electrical circuits
- Low water pressure
- Poor ventilation
- Rusty, discolored water
- Banging radiators
- Negative air pressure in hallways
In addition to upgrading existing MEP systems, RAND designs new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems for gut renovations, reconfigured spaces, and build-outs for residential, commercial, institutional, and retail properties. RAND’s MEP team also works closely with our Energy Services team to perform benchmarking, energy audits, and retro-commissioning to help buildings operate more efficiently and to comply with New York City Local Laws 84/09 and 87/09.
