Powerful storms and wind gusts can blow outdoor furnishings, such as chairs and tables, right off a rooftop and cause serious damage and injuries. In April, a sudden gust of wind blew a heavy hammock off a rooftop terrace and injured a pedestrian below. RAND’s Senior Structural Engineer, Michael Larkin, PE recently spoke with Inside Edition about securing your rooftop and balcony furnishings before a storm hits.
