BEARING THE LOAD

Buildings and their supporting elements are subjected to damage and deterioration that can compromise their structural integrity. Demolition and excavation at a construction site, for example, can affect the walls and foundations of adjacent buildings if proper safeguards and procedures are not followed. Roof decks can be damaged by the added loads of recreational use on roofs not designed for such purposes. And sidewalk vaults, exposed to rain, ice, and salt, are vulnerable to water damage and long-term deterioration, which can lead to instability in structural members and the sidewalk above it.

RAND's Structural Engineering team evaluates structural systems and designs and administers a wide range of structural rehabilitation projects. Our structural engineering services include:

Periodic Inspection of Parking Structures (PIPS) | Local Law 126 of 2021

New York City requires parking structures to be inspected by a licensed engineer every six years per its Periodic Inspection of Parking Structures (PIPS) program, as mandated by Local Law 126 of 2021. Our experienced team of structural engineers and Qualified Parking Structure Inspectors (QPSIs) provide comprehensive engineering services in New York City to help parking structures meet the required safety standards and comply with PIPS. From thorough inspections to practical maintenance strategies, RAND is dedicated to helping clients navigate the complexities of the law.
